Obituary for Melinda Sue Scamardo
Melinda Sue Scamardo, 48, of Fort Smith, AR died on Wednesday, April 14, 2021. She was born on September 23, 1972 to Ronald D. Scamardo and Linda Sue Edwards. She was a homemaker and of the Catholic Faith. Melinda was known for her generous nature, she was always caring for her family, friends, and neighbors. Her door was always open and loved ones were welcomed with open arms and a hot plate! (She loved ones with two legs and four!) She was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral is 2:00 p.m. Monday, April 19, 2021 at Ocker-Putman Funeral Home of Fort Smith with cremation to follow. Inurnment will be at Woodlawn Mausoleum at a later date.
The family will visit with friends from 2-5 on Sunday at the funeral home.
She is survived by her two sisters, Christy Powdrill of Fort Smith, and Janet Davis of Van Buren and two brothers, Ron Scamardo (Donna) of Greenwood and John Scamardo of Fort Smith and her fiancé Phillip Haney of Fort Smith. Melinda will be greatly missed by her nieces, Shawna Detmer (Michael), Christina Todd (Kenneth), nephew Jamel Powdrill and great-nephew Jace. She also leaves behind a host of family, friends and neighbors who dearly love her. She will be missed by so many.
