Obituary for Margaret Sue Sweeden (Teal)

Margaret Sue Sweeden, 92, of Fort Smith, Arkansas passed away on Wednesday, April 21, 2021 in a local hospital. She was born on November 9, 1928 in Russellville, Arkansas to Unis W. and Mary S. (Cornell) Teal. She was a member of Grand Avenue Baptist Church for 63 years where she served as a faithful Sunday school teacher, a youth mission leader and participated weekly in the GABC prayer room. She was preceded in death by her husband J.R. “Bud” Sweeden; grandsons, Scott Sweeden Moore and Luke Stratton and a son-in-law, Larry Don Moore. Margaret was a homemaker and kept her family well in line all of her years.
Funeral services are 11:00AM, Saturday, April 24, 2021 at Ocker-Putman Funeral Home Chapel. The family will visit with friends for one hour prior to the service. Burial at the U.S. National Cemetery at 12:00PM on Friday, April 30, 2021.
She is survived by her daughters, Peggy Stratton of Russellville, AR, Mary June Moore of Fort Smith and Jan Davis and her husband Ron of Conway, AR; a sister Bonnie Teal Moslander of Tulsa, OK; seven grandchildren, Cary Wills (Kyle) of Russellville, Jenny Wilson of Fort Smith, Natalie Wiley (Spencer) of Fort Smith, J.W. Stratton (Christa) of Russellville, Brad Stratton (Katie) of Fayetteville, Ryan Davis (Kim) of Rockwall, TX and Evan Davis (Alyssa) of Brandon, FL and thirteen great grandchildren.
