Obituary for John Paul Ballentine

John Paul Ballentine, 88, of Fort Smith, Arkansas passed away on Thursday, April 22, 2021 in his home. He was born on February 8, 1933 in Alma, Arkansas to John Henry and Laura (Harrell) Ballentine. He served as a U.S. Navy Seabee in the Korean War. He was a partner in Ballentine Produce, the owner and President of Commercial Bank of Alma, the owner of AHC Auto Sales and a rancher and poultry grower. John was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather, he rejoiced when he was with his grandchildren. John loved his friends and was thankful for each and every one of them. He was thankful to God for the life he gave him and all the joy that God brought into his life.
He is survived by his wife, Carolyn of the home; two daughters, Martha Ann Ballentine of New York, NY and Marisia Wofford of Van Buren, AR; one son, Cary Tipton of Alma and four grandchildren, Kristin Cotroneo of Farmington, AR, Noah Wofford of CA, Zoye Wofford of Van Buren, AR and Alana Tipton of Alma, AR.
Funeral services are 10:00 AM, Monday, April 26, 2021 at Ocker-Putman Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in Roselawn Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Wayne and Houston Beckham, Aaron Reed, Shawn Shankle, James Westphal and Roger Brammer.
Viewing of Mr. Ballentine is 12-5PM on Sunday at the funeral home.
