Johnie C. Symonds, Sr. 71 of Van Buren passed away Friday, April 23, 2021 in Mt. Ida, Arkansas. He was a retired from Carco International in Fort Smith; a U.S. Army Veteran of the Vietnam War. He was preceded in death by his parents Carl and Pansy (Sallee) Symonds.

Funeral services will be at 12:30 P.M. Wednesday, April 28, 2021 at Ocker Memorial Chapel in Van Buren with burial at Fort Smith U. S. National Cemetery under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home. The family will visit with relatives and friends Tuesday, April 27, 2021 from 5-7 P.M. at Ocker Funeral Home 700 Jefferson Street Van Buren.

He is survived by his wife Patricia (Wornkey) Symonds of the home; one daughter Teresa Seamster and husband John of Omaha, Arkansas; two sons J.C. Symonds and wife Pam, D.R. Symonds and wife Chrissy all of Van Buren; two sisters Martha Samuels and husband John of Wister, Oklahoma, Hope Parrish of Van Buren; two brothers Jessie Symonds and wife Sandra of Cedarville, David Symonds and wife Suzanna of Van Buren; eight grandchildren, four great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be J.C. Symonds, Douglas Bibbs, Alex Zamora, Derrick Dowdy, Alex Brewer, and Eli Malone.

Honorary pallbearers will be Gary Pack, Robert Symonds, James Abshere, John, Mike and Ed Wornkey, Bo Phillips, Johnny Miller and Larry West.
